Abstract
The purpose of this research is to analyze the value of having son for Bataknese’s mother that live in Jabodetabek with all factors that influence it’s value. According to the problems, the qualitative research method was used in this research with interview technique concern to five womans as the subject that have been married and having child, but didn’t have any son, live in jabodetabek for minimum 10 years. All data in this research have been collected using interview technique. The result explain about the perception of having son for three subjects were not to be prominent any more or decrease, meanwhile for other two subjects, the value of having son were still important. The result also explain that there are many factors that influence perception about having son for Bataknese’s mother that live in Jabodetabek as parenting style, Dalihan Na Tolu, Hasangapon, Hamoraan, marriage, and legacy.
