Abstract
Self efficacy is beliefs about personal competence for doing some actions needed to reach the results that they want. The purpose of this research is for knowing the description of self efficacy of the parents who have autistic children. Autism is a developmental disorder, that happens in childhood and will be took place for the whole life of the person. Autism needs special handling from the parents. This handling need to be supported with the beliefs of the parents. They have to believe that they can handle the disorder that is experienced by the children. The data is taken by in-depth interview to the parents who have children that had been diagnosed to be autism between 26 January 2008 to 12 April 2008. The results of interview with 6 people show all the 6 people have and develop the self efficacy in helping to overcome the development disorder that is experienced by their children.
