Abstract

"In the world, many things could be happen that be correlating to stress and the condition which could make stress. One of the problems is if stress often to appear when people must to make a decision. Theoretically, job stress happen while many pressures in the job which overload and lack of support which needed by someone from the others. If stress happened in the work to made many effect such as subjective effect behavioral effect and cognitive effect. Subjective effect as anxiety a resivity ashamed subjectivity effort as difficulty of speaking, trmoning, lost or appetite and cognitive effect as can not concrentrate and makings a decisions effectively Decision making is a process od making choices from among several alternatives for making problem solution. Effectively of decision making can be reach from minimal mistakes that in the process. In this process has many influential things, such as strees, therefore the study examined coreelation between grade jof job sress with effectively of decision making from manager The study conducted in petroleum industry because this sector can be survive in struggling against the major economic crisis in indonesia. And the respondents are managers whom performance and role can balance the input and output in their job. The instruments used in the study are wuestionnaires which measures the grade of job stress and efectively of decision making. The former is adapted from the original instrument invented by Charles D Spielberger (state trait anxiety inventory), and the latest is composed based on the basic decision making theories in organizarions by Jason Greenberg & Robert A Baron The quantitative method, whis is used the study, resulting 55% respondents (22 people) in high stress condition 30% respondents (12 pepole) in low strees condition. The questionnaire shows that job pressure became the major cause of strees of the managets such as firmly evaluation limited of the time and conditions that makes stress in the job from petroleum industry. That’s influenced to manager in the work which has a qualified to making a decision. If the strees appear often the decision may be not effective Result of the study show that there is a negative correlation between two variables which was measures therefore it could be concluded that there is correlation between grade of job strees whith effectibely of decision making which taken by manager. "
