Abstract
Accelerated students are faced with higher academic standarts compared to the regular students. By having good emotional intelligence, accelerated students can solve many kinds of problems, because they have good self awareness, self control, self motivation, empathy, and social skills. The influence of parenting styles and peers interaction also has role in the shape and development the students of emotional intelligence. This survey used the mix method which has a purpose to know the average emotional intelligence for acceleration students. The analyze quantitative data is done for acceleration students in X with 32 students. Furthermore, a quantitative survey was carried out between 2 groups. They are a group with high emotional intelligence and a group with low emotional intelligence. This research shows that acceleration students have average emotional intelligence or high average (M= 3.2861), with the highest score for empathy dimension (M = 3.4792, SD = 0.48267), and the lowest score for self control dimension (M = 3.0074, SD = 0.50426). Other result shows the interaction difference between parents and peers for both different participant group
