Abstract
This research was conducted due to prevent violence act to Indonesian who gets job in Hong Kong as domestic helper (TKI), this study was focused at PT. X to find out the extent of readiness of Indonesian who trained there as domestic helper to face cultural different in one’s country. The result shows that 21 TKIs had low score at intercultural sensitivity questionnaire by Hana Panggabean, and 7 TKIs had high score at intercultural sensitivity questionnaire. It means most of TKIs do not ready to accept other culture and they have not been prepared well to face cultural different in one’s country, however that would be an obstacle for TKIs to cooperate effectively with their employer, consequently the violence act from their employer might be occur to them. To prevent that violence act, TKIs have to follow the intercultural sensitivity training which will be increased their sensitivities of other culture before they go to Hong Kong, so they can act properly and fit in to employer’s culture.
