Abstract
This research was done for increasing hardiness in children with leukemia by giving art therapy as intervention. Leukemia is cancer which attracts blood reproduction tissues which is signed by excessive amount of white blood cells in a person’s body, so that person encounters anemia and other complications. Leukemia is a type of cancers which is suffer by most of children. Hardiness is a set of attitude that makes a person hardy in handling stress and it involves three main aspects: control, commitment, and challenge. Art therapy is terapeutic approach which allows person to express his or her feeling through art media. The main method in this research is qualitative and quantitative is used as a supportive method. Qualitative method is done through in-depth interview and observation, whereas quantitative method is applied by using hardiness questionaire. The subjects who are participated in this research is two children. Those children suffer leukemia and belong to middle childhood, are gathered by using purposive sampling technique. Result of this research shows that art therapy can increase hardiness in both subjects
