Abstract
"Life on the street is so hard and it is not a good place for everyone. Many risks should be taken on the street such as street violence, hunger, and being caught by the police. Few of people have a chance to leave the street life and live in the shelter. The shelter help those people to develop resiliency in their self. Resiliency is a capability of someone to face and overcome the adversities. The intention of this research is to answer how the description of people who had lived on the street's resiliency. The interview was held for two months, starte from September 1“ 2005 until November 7th 2005. There were six people participated in this research and they all had been on the street for 1-3 years and i have been lived in the orphanage. All participant can only perform some resiliency characteristics that has been mentioned before by Grotberg (1995). "
