Abstract

"Autism is a complex development interferences, because it caused an obstruction in psychomotor, sensory, emotion, behavior, communication and social interaction. There were many methods of handling this disorder, one of them is education, by taking children to public school or to the autism centre. Both of those school, are has effect for developing communication skills and social interaction of the child carrying autism. Because of that, researcher prosesing the education result between those two types of school concering the communication skills and social interaction of the child carrying autism. This research done by using qualitative methods, that is by interviewing the educators. Interview is done to understand the condition of children since the first time they entering the education institution, until the progress they reached, and also the instruction methods used. Whereas data proceeding is done by an intensive analysis, based on intervention of autism theory, and DSM IV. The result of this research is, that each institution has different effects for develop communication skill and social interaction. The researcher has also found several external variable wich influence the progress of the person carrying autism, some of them are intensity of parents attention to their children, education methods, and also the coorperation between parents and the educator. "
