Abstract
The purpose of this research is to know the descriptive about interest on communication factors in middle adolescence who conduct chatting activity. The importance of this study is because there were a lot of debate about chatting activity that would cause decrease in social activity in adolescence. There were 272 participants, male and female who participate in this study. To collect data for this study, questionnaire was used. Data was analyzed with descriptive statistic using SPSS 12.00 for windows. This study found that adolescence was more interested to communicate through media, rather than meet face to face. Adolescence had a moderate level in the degree of formality, and adolescence was most interested to communicate about their school life. Moreover, adolescence was most interested to communicate with their best friends with 1 or 2 partners.
