Abstract
Children sexual abuse can occur anytime and anywhere, without considering the age and the gender of the victims. The abuse experienced by the victims affected them psychologically and changed the victim’s behaviour in their social environment. In handling all the effects experienced by the victims, they have to be handled professionally, mainly by their counselor. To deal with the cases of children sexual abuse, supports are believed will facilitate the recovery of the psychological effect and the transition of the children’s behaviour. The supports mentioned previously are emotional support, instrumental and tangible support, informational support, esteem support, appraisal support, and network support. In the research methodology, the finding is all kind of supports given are highly beneficial in handling the case of children sexual abuse. The research is done among 5 counselors from many LSM located in Jakarta on April 15th 2006 up to September 11th 2006.
