Abstract
Husband's support facing wife third trimester of first pregnancy process would be an important factor. Support given by husband during his wife pregnancy can reduce the apprehension also giving back the confidence of future mother facing her pregnancy process. Along with that psychological disturbance appear during that process can be avoid or not become worse. There are four supports that a husband can give to his wife facing the pregnancy process: (a) emotional support, (b) appraisal support, (c) instrumental support, and (d) informational support. This research intend to discover how the support given by husband facing the third trimester of first pregnancy. Five men participated in this research using qualitative method. Interview to the five subjects is done in stand of two months_ start from April_ 15th 2002 to June. 11th 2002. The result of the research show that support given by husband to pregnant wife in facing that first pregnancy process can make them calm and have strong mental to face the labor process.
