Abstract

Technique of STAD can be used to increase learning motivation in many lesson aspects. Previous researches about STAD method majority is performed in math lesson. This study is using classroom action research method in Indonesia language lesson during two cycles, with activity steps such as planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. This study is designed to know what application to cooperative learning of STAD method can be increase student learning motivation. Participant is 32 students, which consist of 23 male and 9 female. Sampling method is used that is purposive sampling. Data is obtained in this study, analyzed using two approaches, qualitative and quantitative. Result of study shows that application cooperative learning of STAD method can increase student learning motivation in Indonesia language lesson. School party, especially teacher of Indonesia language, advisable using cooperative learning of STAD Method in implementing teaching in class can become one of the effective teaching strategies. Useful of this study, that its result can become the manual by teacher of Indonesia language to implements cooperative learning of STAD method in next meeting.
