Abstract
Achievement motivation is one of the most important factors in education ot a child. According to the theory of Pintrich and Schunk (1996) certain index which measure achievement motivation have the positive relation with academic achievement. This research is trying to proof whetherachievement motivation" is l related with academic achievement, especially in Indonesia today. This research used quantitative approach. ' Data collection was conducted by using questionnaires that were composed based on the Likert Scale. The number of subjects were 35 students (aged 10 - 11 years old). Results indicated that there was a medium positive relation between achievement motivation and academic achievement of primary school students. The correlation was 0,418 and level of significance was 0,05. The pupils are suggested to enhance their achievement Jnotivation in order to get good'academic achievement.
