Abstract
"The purpose of this research is to find out how does low resiliency play a role to make someone become an alcoholic and how does low aspects in resiliency make an alcoholic unable to stop his/her drinking. Generally, resiliency is the capability to bounce back from adversities. The qualitative method is used in this research with depth interview with 3 alcoholics. This research found that low resiliency plays a major role to make someone become an alcoholic. Low resilient people tend to be pessimistic about their lives, have low self esteem and self eflicacy. External locus of control is also found in an individual with low resiliency. The lack of social support is the most influential aspect which makes an alcoholic unable to stop his/her drinking behavior."
