Abstract
Bumout is a syndrom that emerge from someone's reaction as a result of his or her occupation, which consist of emotional fatigues, depersonalization and degradation of personal accomplishment. Bumout level can be affected by a few factor, one of them is personality type. Personality type A and personality type B, mentioned by Friedman and Rosenman, is used in this research. The objective of this research is to discover the different level of burnout betweenof taxi driver with personality type A and taxi driver with personality type B. The data is collected from 136 taxi drivers who work for PT. X, and had been driving the taxi for more than 2 years. The data is collected by 3 instruments (1) Questioner for type A personality (2) Questioner for type B personality (3) Questioner for the burnout level. The data had been analyzed by using t-test with SPSS version 11.00. The result shown that average score (mean) of the burnout level for Type A personality is 26.5588 (s=5.67392) and for Type B personality is 26,0769 (s=4.83618). This result indicates that the level of burnout, between taxi driver with personality type A and the taxi driver with personality type B, is not significantly different, t(71) = 0,696, t>0,05. Thus, the next research should be done through a qualitative research with in depth interview, in order to receive a more quality data.
