Abstract
Increase of numbers of the elderly people due to health service improvement has created specific problems. Researches reported that they who lived in nursing homes tended to experience loneliness. Erikson consider that they who experience stagnation in the developmental processes tend to be more vulnerable to loneliness. Frankl considers that they who lose the meaning of life tend to easily experience loneliness. This quantitative research is aimed at finding the correlation between feeling of loneliness and the perception of meaning of life. Data was collected by using questionnaires from above 65 years old subjects who lived in nursing homes. The reliability study was conducted byalpha cronbach. Results indicated that there is significant negative correlation between feeling of loneliness and perception of meaning of life. Research also found that most of them who lived in the nursing homes did not experience loneliness and did not lose their meaning of life.
