Abstract
Breast cancer causes problems to the patient and to the patient's family as well, and it also influences the life of the breast cancefs spouses. This research is aimed at finding the emotional description of the husbands of breast cancer patients. Using qualitative approach and involving 4 subjects (aged 46-70 years) between July 14, 2002 to April 20, 2003, the researcher found that all subjects experienced financial, family and sexual relationship problems during the period of diagnosis to treatment. In particular, during the period of diagnosis until mastectomy, all subjects experienced successively phases of (1) shock, (2) sadness, and (3) feel sorry to their wives due to the illness.
