Abstract

Prosocial behavior a behavior which is meant to help or to give benefit for other people, so that living welfare could be achieved. Someone whom is going to give help to others is expected to have the ability to make a good interpersonal relationship. This is because the process of giving help involves both side, the people who gives help and the people who receives help. The purpose of the research is to find out the relationship between interpersonal competence and prosocial behavior of adolescent. The data was taken from 81 adolescents of SMUJubilee, North Jakarta. Data collection was conducted by using questionnaires. Spearman correlation and Kendall correlation was conducted to test the hypothesis. Result indicated that there was a significant positive correlation between interpersonal competence and prosocial behavior, (Spearman, rxy = 0,324; p<005; Kendall's tau-b, rxy : 0,242; p<0,05).
