Abstract
According to Sternberg (1988) love consists of three components: intimacy passion, and commitment. A research from Black and Angelis report that intimacy Is more dominant in females whereas passion is more dominant in males (Brehm, 1992). Other research from Cunningham and Antill reports that there is no differene between men and women in love. This research is aimed at finding the differences between male and female component. One hundred fourty six individuals from Jakarta Timur area participated. T test and SPSS 11.00 were used for data analysis. Results indicates that there is no difference of intimacy component between male and female, t(144)=0.671,p> 0,05. There is no difference of passion component between male and female, t(144)=0.166,p> 0,05. But, there is a difference of commitment component between male and female t(144)=0.022,p< 0,05.
