Abstract
This study has an objective to find the relationship between adolescent perception and father's role and self concept. A father has a role as breadwinner, care taker, child educator, and protector for the family member. A child perceives fathers role which will help in development of his self-concept.. Self concept is an individual perception toward his/herself. Self concept is very important for an adolescent. Adolescence represents a time that many individual changes occur physically and psychologically. A puberty marks an early adolescence. That's why it often occurs the feeling of incapability when in adolescent has no positive self concept from childhood. These quantitative studies were carried out on 75 students of six Christian/Catholic Secondary Schools in Bogor during 11-13 September 2003. Data processing was affected by correlation, using SPSS 11.0. The result shows that has a relationship of father's role as a breadwinner, family protector, and care taker to adolescent self concept. But father's role as a family educator has not.
