Abstract
The majority of teachers in Indonesia have not met the academic qualifications and competencies listed in the government’s standard regulation. One of the government's efforts in promoting the standard is by conducting an award event for outstanding teachers in every province. In addition to become the teacher’s motivation, this event also aims to empower the outstanding teachers in national policy development based on their professional experience. The greater the number of high performance teacher, the wider the impact in Indonesian teacher’s quality. This research was conducted to create a model that can be used as an inspiration for teachers to achieve a high standard of performance as shown by the outstanding teachers. This model based on the dynamics of various factors that was traced through a qualitative study using a phenomenological study. Research data derived from in-depth interviews of the four teachers whose actively involved in the development of the principal quality assurance policy that were selected through a purposive sampling technique. The result shows that the model consists life struggle process; values that become one’s life principle, which are self-determination, integrity, and meaningfull life; and momentum in life. Teacher’s achievement started from the success of outstanding teacher’s in overcoming obstacles at the right moment and place as a momentum. This success is driven by the power of selfdetermination to achieve the meaningfulness of life in the form of tangible personal integrity.
