Abstract
This research tried to find correlation between attitude towards television violence and prosocial behavior on Tarumanagara University students majoring in Psychology, Jakarta Barat, who are still active studying until now. Television violence has several effects to the viewers, such as desensitization (viewers became emotionally insensitive), and decreased empathy. Prosocial behavior (helping) has two motives such as altruism and egoism. By using Simple Random Sampling, sample consists of 200 people, ranging from 17-40 years old. Result derived by using Pearson correlation test showing rs = -.138, and from significancy test α = 0,05, indicating no correlation between both variables.
