Abstract
This research is describe how the migrant domestic workers cope with stresses, especially stress that caused by employer violence. This research used qualitative method with in depth interview technique. This research started at May 5 th 2008 until August 24nd 2008. There were four subjects that participate in this research. The characteristics of subjects of this research are migrant domestic workers who had physical abuse, psychology abuse, and sexual abuse. The age of subjects is still between 20 and 32 years old, and workplace abuse in Arab Saudi. To analyze stressor and response of stress is using Lazarus and Folkman theory. Strategy coping using Folkman, Lazarus, Dunkel-Schetter, and DeLongis theory. The result of this research is all subjects hade stress with response of 3 from 4 subject wanted to suicide. The strategy coping that always use by all subjects is positive reappraisal but this strategy is not effective.
