Abstract

Altruistic behavior is a behavior that gives positive contribution to other people above one’s interest and assist others in whatever situation, not expecting any kind of material and social rewards. Firefighters is a kind of job that requires the role of altruistic behavior. Firefighters are mostly characterized with altruistic behavior. This research is aimed at understanding the description of altruistic behavior of firefighters. Questionaire instrument has been used to 171 subjects of the research. Based on the result of data analysis, mean value is 3,72 and SD 0,33, minimum value 2,91 and maximum value 4,84. The finding of the research is that the altruistic behavior of firefighters tends to be high.
