Abstract
This research is to know the role of social support for early adult women who were abused in their dating violence. Abuses in dating could be physical, psychological, sexual, and economical that consists of mental pressure, physical pressure, sexual abuse, and psychological abuse. One of the supports that could be given to these abused victims is social support. Social support can be given by having someone that can be trusted and will always be there to give hand when needed. There are five kinds of social support, which are esteem support, emotional support, instrumental support, information support, and network support. This research has used a face to face interview method to wards five subjects. These participant include individuals that have an age range between 22 to 28 years old who got an experience as abused victims in dating violence. Based on the research conducted, I can conclude that social support has a significant role to abused victims in dating violence. The most significant support that the five participants got was from families and friends. The social support that they received was equivalent to what they have needed. The most needed supports for these abused victims in dating violence are esteem support and emotional support.
