Abstract
This study aims to determine the anticipated and unanticipated death effects of religiosity moderates the influence of Christianity (Plante & Boccaccini, 1997) in the grief (Prigerson, Kasl, & Jacobs, 2000) of a husband or wife widowed spouse. The hypothesis of this research was that anticipated and unanticipated death moderated the influence of Christian religiosity to grief in husband or wife who was widowed spouse. This study included 100 husbands or wives widowed spouse, 1-2 years grief, using accidental sampling technique. Using ANCOVA analysis, this study showed that there was a linear relationship between the Christian religiosity and grief (p < 0.05). Without the influence of Christian religiosity, there was effect of anticipated and unanticipated death on grief (p < 0.05). Christian religiosity and anticipated and unanticipated death simultaneously influence the widow’s grief (p < 0.05).
