Abstract
In working mothers usually an emotional bond with the child will be reduces, thus resulting in an emotional gap between mother and child; especially when children cared for by a nanny or baby sitter. The children may experience emotional disturbances such as quiet, irritability or learning disorders such as difficulty in concentrating. This study used attachment theory of John Bowlby and Marry Ainsworth with qualitative research methods using depth interviews conducted on six children and working mothers. The results show that the conditions of working mothers do not always result in emotional gaps in children if the mother is able to regulate time between working and with families.
