Abstract

­Self-efficacy and foreign language learning anxiety are two important factors that plays a role for someone who is learning English. English is an international language that related to early adulthood development due to their function to communicate broadly. Self-efficacy gives an impact to foreign language learning anxiety as their individual role to impact someone who is learning English. That comes to the purpose of this study which is about correlation on both aspects. This study was held at “X” Institution in Jakarta. The samples are 110 students who have been active learning English in school of English. The instrument is a questionnaire that based on the theory that was quoted by Field (2004) and Cubukcu (2008), along with self-efficacy theory by Bandura (1997). The result of correlation study between self-efficacy of English language and foreign language learning anxiety shows r = -0.727, ρ = 0.000<0.01. This results show that both aspects are negatively correlated. The research shows that both aspects are correlated, although the other factors such as gender, durations of study, and working status were not show any important role in terms of this research.
