Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in achievement motivation reviewed based on personality type and learning style. The learning method in this study uses Fleming's theory (1987) which revealed that there are four learning style methods called VARK, for personality type theory in this study using the theories of McCrae and Costa which reveal that there are five personality types called the Big Five Personality. This study was conducted on 101 (N = 101) students of the 2012 CBC class psychology at Tarumanagara University with a GPA of> 3.27. The results showed that there were no differences in achievement motivation reviewed based on personality type and learning style. Based on one way ANOVA analysis and then continued post hoc analysis, it can be seen in the six dimensions of achievement motivation that there are two different dimensions reviewed based on personality types namely (1) the dimension of "paying attention" has different types of openness personality, extraversion, neuroticism and combination; (2) dimensions "want to be the best have different types of personality openness, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and combination.
