Abstract

Teacher’s self-efficacy is a judgement of his or her ability to organize, influence and decide the actions to carry out the tasks and obtain the desired learning outcomes on student engagement and learning. Self-efficacy of male kindergarten teachers need to be studied considering the number of female teachers is more dominant than male teachers, although it’s presence is needed in the psychological development of students. This study aims to look at the description of self-efficacy on male kindergarten teachers to carry out it’s duties. Subjects in this study were four male subjects who taught at a private kindergarten in Jakarta. These results indicate that all four subjects had self-efficacy are influenced by the sources of information: enactive mastery experience, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion, and physiological and affective states. It is also influenced by three dimensions of teacher self-efficacy: student engagement, instructional strategies, and classroom management.
