Abstract
This research aims to provide exposure to the long-term impact on the intimate relationships in young adult only child. Children with divorced parents have anxiety that comes from divorce. When it has entered adulthood, parental divorce prevents them to build a family because of success in a relationship is also influenced by the child's view of the success of the intimate relationships of parents in marriage. The impact of parental divorce tend to have a greater influence on the only child than the child who has a sibling. The method called in-dept interview was conducted towards on four only child young adult subjects (aged 22 to 28 years) whose parents are divorced. The research lasted for five months, start from February 2014 until June 2014. The results shows that this study showed in general that parental divorce has an impact on the intimate relationships of three subjects, while one subject has not an impact on the intimate relationship.
