Abstract

Reading is the most important function in life and it can be said that all learning is based on the ability to read . Children who have difficulty learning is impaired in the basic process that includes understanding the use of spoken or written language, the disorder was seen in the form of an imperfect ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell, or count (Subini 2011). According to Mercer (1983), the definition of dyslexia is a difficulty in understanding a passage written or difficult to interpret the meaning of writing. The disorder is caused by the inability of the connections between oral and written, or difficult to know the relationship between the sound and the written word. According Sarafino and Smith ( 2012), there are 4 types of division of social support, among others: emotional support and support awards (emotional or esteem support); real or instrumental support (tangible or instrumental support); informative support (informational support); support friendship (companionship support). Social support is needed and given to children who have dyslexia . The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative . The results of this study indicate that the three subjects can provide social support and care for their children . In this case, all three subjects giving form emotional support, tangible support, informative support and friendship support .
