Abstract
This research looked at the relationship between genre preference someone with personality types in early adulthood. Musical taste preference is someone who prefer and like a certain type of music than others (Scherer & Zentner, 2001). McCrae and Costa (1999) describes the personality superfaktor called the big five or OCEAN comprised of openness (Openness), accuracy (conscientiousness), Extraversion, agreement (Agreeableness), neurotic. Superfaktor neurotic (Neuroticism) and Extraversion is a personality trait of the most powerful and general. The study was conducted in 102 early adulthood. The results of the correlation test showed there was a significant association of music preferences with different personality types.
