Abstract
Jakarta is one of the cities with most traffic jams in the world. This traffic jams inflict driver stress. Repetitive stress experienced by car drivers can cause aggression. The act of aggression while driving known as aggressive driving. Aggressive driving behavior can harm another drivers or the surrounding environment. Previous research by Gulian et al showed that there is a correlation between driver stress and aggressive driving. The purpose of this study is to find the role of driver stress on aggressive driving towards cars driver in Jakarta. Participants were 147 car drivers in Jakarta, age 20 to 60 years. The result showed there is a role of driver stress on aggressive driving towards cars driver in Jakarta (R2 = 0.084, p = 0.000 < 0.05). The role of driver stress on aggressive driving are 8.4% while 91.6% are caused by other factors outside this research. Hopefully this research can give a positive effect for car drivers especially in Jakarta when dealing with driver stress and aggressive driving.
