Abstract
"This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and premarital sexual behavior early adulthood. Subjects in this study amounted to 385, which has a 20-25 years old, minimum education is senior high school, dating (have boyfriend or girlfriend) and live in Jakarta. This study used a non-probability sampling technique with convenience sampling method. Collecting data using questionnaires. Emotional intelligence questionnaire obtained from one of the research institute of psychology based on theory Goleman, while sexual behavior is constructed questionnaire itself with the study of theory Sarwono. Data were collected from April 4 to May 10, 2016 in Jakarta by distributing questionnaires in the form of hardcopy and through the online messenger with google form. The results showed that there was no correlation between emotional intelligence and premarital sexual behavior in early adulthood (r = -0083, p = 0.106). The role of emotional intelligence on the sexual behavior of 0.7% while the remaining 99.3% is not described in this study. "
