Abstract
Infidelity is a relationship between one married couple with someone other than their partner. The purpose of this study is to illustrate the forgiveness of young adult male whose father had an affair. Forgiving is an act of mercy toward an offender, someone who does not necessarily deserve our mercy. This survey was conducted to determine the portray of forgiveness given by the cheated young adult male to her father. It was carried out on four young adult male with ages ranging from 21 to 40 years. This research is a qualitative research with in-depth interview method which took approximately four mounth, from March 8, 2017 to May 22, 2017. The results obtained of these four subjects were that they had granted forgiveness to their father wholeheatedly. It is shown throughout the better relationship between those subjects and their fathers compared to what they had before the forgiveness occurred. They had all experienced four phases of forgiveness, that were uncovering phase, decision phase, working phase and the deepening phase (Enright & Kittle, 1999).
