Abstract
"The aimed of this study was to determine the correlation between the quality of friendship and self-concept in adolescence with visual impairment. The quality of friendship is a quality relationship of friendship have emotional support, affection and advice. Self-concept is a picture of oneself. Visual impairment defined as the limitation of everyday actions.The subjects of this study are adolescence aged 12-20 years, who living in Jakarta and Depok. This research was conducted in October 2016, and data retrieval in April 2017 until Mei 2017 at the Special School and Blind Social Home. The number of subjects in this study were 65 subjects. This research was used quantitative research methods. This study uses a correlational study type, with non-probability sampling technique. Retrieval of data using the Spearman Correlation processed through SPSS version 21. The result of this study demonstrate the value of rxy = -0.063; p > 0.05. So, there is no relationship between the quality of friendship and self-concept. The research hypothesis is not accepted. Relationship in this research only occurs between dimensions, conflict and closeness dimension from the quality of friendship variable with autonomy from the self-concept variable."
