Abstract
"This research is a non experimental quantitative research that aims to test the role of social support towards quality of life in the elderly. This study included 105 elderly people aged 60 years and over by using convenience sampling technique, which is distributing questionnaires to each elderly everywhere with the focus of sampling to the orphanage Jakarta-Tangerang and elderly communities. The results showed that there is a role of social support towards quality of life in elderly. The effective contribution of social support to the quality of life is 22.8%, which means in this study social support affect the quality of life as much as 22.8% and the remaining 77.2% influenced by other factors. The most dominant social support in this research is network support. Other findings indicate that there are differences in the quality of life of elderly people in terms of age range."
