Abstract
This chip is designed to detect level and type of dirt in a washing material. The output of this chip is the optimum length of washing time. This design is in order to achieve energy and other resource saving. Inference system which was applied in this chip is Fuzzy Inference System. The inference method is Mamdani. Rules of composition used OR (union) operator. Deffuzification used Mean of Maximum (MOM) Method. We used Atmega8535 as the processor. We tested this chip by using a simulation. The input was simulated using voltage controller. The output of the chip was displayed using Light Emitting Diode (LED) and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) M1632. LED displayed status, in other hand LCD displayed the output of the chip in detail. The output of this chip was crosschecked using simulated output by Matlab. The design of this chip was intended for washing machine with maximum capacity of 7 kilograms, and debit 41 liters. In the test that we had conducted, the output was closed to the output of simulation. So, we could conclude that this chip was working as we designed.
