Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine whether 1) emotional intelligence can predict risky investment intention; 2) risk aversion can predict risky investment intention; 3) external locus of control can predict risky investment intention; 4) financial literacy can predict risky investment intention; 5) demographic can predict risky investment intention; 6) financial literacy moderates the relation between external locus of control and risky investment intention. Sample was collected by purposive sampling method with total amount 189 respondents in Jakarta and analyzed with SmartPLS 3.2.7. The result of this study show that emotional intelligence, risk aversion and external locus of control have significant effect to risky investment intention. On the contrary, financial literacy and demographic have no significant effect. While financial literacy does not have significant moderating effect on the relationship between external locus of control and risky investment intention.
