Abstract

Many firms ecounter financial disstress, and some force into bancruptcty. One of financial distress category is bussiness failure largely due to economic and financial factor. This research aims at providing empirical evidance on internal and external factor that affect financial distress of firms. The sample of this research consist on 8 company listing in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) between 2008 until 2015 period. This research used multinomial logit regression analysis. The result show that profitability (ROE) and liquidity (CR) contribute significantly positive effect on financial distress of the firm, while leverage (DER) contribute negative effect on it. And global economic crisis has an impact on financial distress of firm, while another external factor (exchange rates and crude oil price) do not affect on it.
