Abstract

There are 3 main aspects those are well known in construction industry. Those aspects are time (schedule), cost and quality of the construction. By balancing these 3 aspects, the construction process could progress efficiently. However, there is a new aspect that all stakeholders in construction industry need to pay attention to. That aspect is sustainable construction. Sustainable construction purpose is not only to build a proper building but also considering another aspect such as environment, sosial and even economy. Indonesia’s government has enforced all stakeholders to apply sustainable construction in their project by introducing the new construction law, Indonesian Construction Law Act 2 ,2017. Unfortunately, in every country, all effort to apply this aspect will meet a firm resistance or obstacles which need to be tackled. From the research, there are 4 main problems that might become hindrances. Those problems are lack of knowledge, lack of experts, lack of supply chains and additional cost.
