Abstract

Urban resilience is the capacity of individuals, communities and cities to survive, adapt and grow as a means of countering the vulnerabilities that strain progress. When governments take a holistic, integrated approach towards addressing these shocks and stresses, we position ourselves and our communities on an upward development trajectory for the future. In this paper, Biophilic City is argued to be the proven way to achieve sustainable and resilient cities. Recent attention to biophilic design among architects and designers acknowledges this power of nature. This paper aims to examine the biophilic master planning concept on biophilic real estate development. It is pertinent to examine that how embracing the biophilic master planning concept in real estate development and the impacts on sustainable and resilient city. This paper will give an overview of each concept and design framework of Real Estate Development of CitraGarden City Jakarta, to interpret how to implement the biophilic master planning concept approach and to analyse a growing recognition of the need for daily contact with nature, to live a happy, productive and meaningful lives. The study adopted phenomenological research approach on elements of biophilic master planning concept and primary data was collected by analyse master planning models and interview among the community and real estate owners. The information collected from these phenomenological approach were evaluated how biophilic master planning concept is applied on real estate development of CitraGarden City. For these purposes, sustainability, biophilic design and resilient City are adopted as source as references and how they are applied in a city and real estate development. According to data, 47,1% of total area CitraGarden City are facilities including green area with biophilic concept. They provide environmentally friendly, economically profitable and socially sustainable development. It can be concluded that CitraGarden City is developed with the implementation of biophilic master planning concept.
