Abstract
Forced Vital Capacity (KVP) represents one of the respiratory capacities that can contribute to a person's safety function. Many factors increase KVP, one of which is a change in a person's Body Mass Index (BMI), both a deficiency and an excess of BMI. This study is to find out whether there is a relationship between the Body Mass Index (BMI) and the Forced Vital Capacity (KVP). The study design used an observational analytic study with a cross sectional design. The number of research samples was 70 respondents with 35 respondents with Non-obese BMI and 35 respondents. The results showed the value of p = (p> 0.05) which showed that nothing showed between the variables that contradicted the chi-square test. This study concluded that there was nothing related between Body Mass Index (BMI) and Lung Function in young adults at the Faculty of Medicine, Tarumanagara University.
