Abstract

There are four purposes in this study: First, to explore the effect among website quality, security, privacy and word of mouth on purchase intention. Second, to explore the effect among website quality, security and privacy on trust. Third, to explore the effect of trust on purchase intention. Fourth, to find out if trust is able to mediate website quality, security and privacy toward purchase intention. The population of this research are all Groupon users in Jakarta. The samples of this research are two hundreds Groupon users in Jakarta. The method of data collection was cocnducted by distributing questionnaires to 200 respondents. The technique of data analysis used in this study was regression analysis and mediating test to examine the hypotheses. The results are: (a) the relationship between website quality, privacy and word of mouth have a significant and positvive effect toward purchase intention, whereas security is not significant toward purchase intention; (b) the relationship between website quality, security and privacy have a significant and positive effect toward trust; (c) trust has a positive effect on purchase intention; (d) trust will mediate the effect between website quality, security, privacy and purchase intention.
