Abstract

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is an ethnic and regional clash among Armenia and Azerbaijan over the contested area of Nagorno-Karabakh. Regional debates are frequently identified with the ownership of normal assets albeit the questions can likewise be driven by culture, religion, and ethnic patriotism. A truce endorsed in 1994 accommodated twenty years of relative peace, which fundamentally disintegrated alongside Azerbaijan's expanding disappointment with the norm, at odds with Armenia's endeavors to solidify it. The battling halted with a ceasefire on November, 2020.The author analyzes the method of conflict settlement in the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute, questioning the effectivity of the conflict mediation in hopes to be able to implement an alternative dispute resolution that may better suit the dispute settlement outcome. Using secondary data sources, namely: books, journals, statutory regulations, court decisions, legal theories and opinions of legal scholars to find a description of the implementation of the dispute settlement in the Nagorno-Karabakh territorial dispute, we may find that in discussing how apt the dispute settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict that was enforced in the wake of territorial dispute and international armed conflict is unstable and not a permanent solution.
