Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of leverage and sales growth on financial distress with profitability as a moderating variable through annual financial reports that have been prepared by manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The population in this study was obtained using purposive sampling method on listed manufacturing companies. on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) with the selected criteria, including manufacturing companies that have financial statement data for the 2015-2019 period. Based on the research method, the sample obtained as many as 170 manufacturing companies. The analytical method used is logistic analysis with application tools, namely SPSS Version 21 and Microsoft Excel 2016. This study proves that leverage has a significant positive effect on financial distress, and sales growth has an insignificant negative effect on financial distress. In addition, profitability can weaken the relationship between leverage and financial distress, profitability can weaken the relationship between sales growth and financial distress.
