Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide an introduction to consumer protection and direct data on users of information technology-based money lending services. In the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, the government issued a new policy to prevent the spread of COVID-19, which also affected the economy in Indonesia to decline, such as the policy of implementing restrictions on community activities, and so on. The economic downturn has had a huge impact on the people and even companies that have gone bankrupt. Online loans are also present as a short solution for the community to overcome the economic problems they are facing. However, online loans have a bad impact on consumer protection and exclusive data caused by the many problems where loan bills have been billed before the promised day and there are threats to consumer and misuse of direct data that endangers consumers. For that reason, the regulations that have been set must be implemented, especially in the matter of online loans, in accordance with the Financial Services Authority Regulation number 77/POJK.01/2016 concerning information Technology-Based Borrowing and Borrowing Services which in article 29 obliges organizers to apply the basic principles of protection users, namely transparency, fair treatment, reliability, confidentiality and security of data, and the resolution of user concurrency in a simple, fast, and affordable way.
