Abstract
The development of new plaster machine technology has started to be marketed in Indonesia construction. This machine does not completely replace humans for wall plastering, but it only provides some help. The purpose of this study is to obtain the difference in duration and cost of using plaster machine. Data were collected from direct experimental plaster machines in the field by workers who have been trained to use machines, thus equivalent to the observation of conventional plaster. This method is referred to as direct observation by the method of recording actual work practices, called time study techniques. Plaster with machine turns out to be more expensive ± I% compared to conventional plaster because it requires rent and electricity cost. However, machine plaster is ± 2% faster than conventional plaster. As this research was conducted, this machine installation method was also identified as a guide. Machine plaster proved to have constraints and limitations, for example machine can not be used for exterior plastering and the machine has a pipe that obstructed by electrical materials and water pipes.
