Abstract
This research was aimed to examine the description of attitude toward marriage among late adolescence in Jakarta Province. Attitude is defines as one’s evaluation toward an object, whether it’s favorable or not favorable. The subjects of this research were adolescence aged 20-24 years old and have not been married. As much as 330 subjects of research participated in this research. Questionnaire about attitude toward marriage used the method of summated rating from Likert. The research indicated that 73.3% of late adolescence in Jakarta Province have positive attitude toward marriage, and 10.9% of late adolescence have very positive attitude toward marriage (M = 3.9468, SD = 0.42291). Among the three dimension of attitude toward marriage, cognitive dimension have the highest mean. This result indicate that late adolescence’s attitude toward marriage is more shaped by their belief and evaluation about advantages and disadvantages from marriage.
